Bleeding Edge

This song was exactly what I needed today- something a little left of center that enhances my mood with trippy sounds, a nice beat, great guitar work and an overall vibe that adds nicely to my meds. I love the way the song is mixed and sounds! Very modern and very cool! I love the breakdown and the instrumental focus shifts from guitars to bass. A nice piece of songwriting, this band thought this one out before committing sounds to tape. My only suggestion would be to add some minimal vocals to enhance the mood of the music, the way it is done now relegates this song to album filler. Some vocal thoughts would help the mood tremendously.

There's cool sampling and interesting guitar effects going on at the beginning of this song. It has potential to be a good song. Possibly a better recording? The mood overall is something I enjoy in a song. Makes one think about deeper things and such.

The changes in this song, which is definitely prog, are pretty cool. The guitars sound great, very eery and disonant. The bass and drums get a nice rhythm going to carry it on...and then the bizarre, mostly out of place sound effects. I would enjoy this song a great more without any of the extraneous sounds bubbling around and more than often cutting into the song. You guys have real potential, though. Good job.

I like the dark mood of this song. the Arrangement is fantastic, this song flows nicely. All the effects in it add to the song greatly. The intro trips me out.

Pretty intense stuff here. I can hear elements of Fugazi perhaps, plus a healthy dose of knob twisting. The rythm section and guitar is all very well crafted, and somehow manages to express a changing dynamic for the full six and a half minutes. I like what this group is doing here. I feel it could be better if the funky noises were more of an enhancement to a strong vocalist. That could really complete the sound.

Arrangement:
The first 1:40 flies right by, which is a good sign, but then it is just looped: right away.
I think you could skip that repeat and go straight to the different part at about 3:30. Then, it seems the whole song is just repeated again. Some cool stuff going on from 3:45 to about 4:05... then we seem to restart again. I would like to hear more of that stuff, maybe with a total breakdown in there, instead of the loop thing again. Mostly I'm diggin this tune. I think trimming that early loop, which would take the song down to about 4:50 would give it better overall pacing.
Mood:
Makes me think of James Bond sneaking around some bad dudes mansion.
Tight mix and production quality!
Some interesting tones in there mang.

Arrangement - Love the changes especially when it goes into the distorted parts. The verse parts are maybe a bit too drawn out though.
Balance - Sounds great. I can hear everything well
Mood - Well it mellows you out until that thunderous chorus comes in then I want to start smashing things!

The intro is cool, I like your use of electronic sounds. I think you should develop the intro a little faster, I found myself wanting something sooner. The guitar sound at 1:30 is really cool, how did you get that? I'd put some more melody in this though, maybe some vocals. It's very groove orientated as it stands now.

Some distortion -- intentional?. Nice atmospheric placement of instruments. The lead voice -- is it vox or synth, or guitar, or what? I like that it is ambiguous. This piece develops well, and gets better as it goes. In spite of the abundance of SFX, I don't think the mix is as muddy as it could have been; good job keeping things isolated, yet well-blended.

The intro on this song is sweet and long. The crazy noises in the background are cool, they go well with the music. The mood of this piece is dark and brooding. soundslike a soundtrack piece for a montage of someone getting f***ed up. I like it.

the sounds are very interesting a bit of digital clipping though it was recorded a bit too hot apparently

Nice clean production. It all meshed together and balanced well.
The songs transitioned really well and kept it fairly intresting. Not sure if I like the amount of reverb you seemed to have used on the guitars. If you lowered the 'hall' effect on them and made them sound a bit more raw, this would have been a totally kick ass song.

Loud chord at beginning is a dramatic start. As different instruments come in, my attention is kept. At close to two minutes, the pace picks up, just as I was wondering if the basic tune would remain the same -- nice change of pace. Then back to the main theme, flavored nicely with regular seasonings of new sounds. I like the guitar that comes in around 3:45. I like the bass playing throughout. Lots of interesting sounds, constant variety, spinning off a very interesting arrangement. Kept my attention. Mood....? I don't know exactly what mood it evoked, but very spacey sounding, relaxing in some ways, but always keeping you on your toes with new surprises. Nice stuff!

Sensory overload
The opening to the track made me think this is the sonic equivalent of motion sickness - too much movement to fully interpret and it makes the listener feel slightly off balance and ill. I do like how things settled down a fair bit past the 1:30 mark, though some of the ear candy bits still stuck out a bit too far in the mix for my personal liking.
However, the balance between melodic and dissonant elements is well executed. The underlying groove track is a nice platform for introducing some of the more esoteric elements and the movement of the elements in the stereo field helps keep the mix uncluttered even with all that's going on at once.

the opening guitar work reminds me a lot of sonic youth--lots of talent and experimentation--love the rocket/ firework sound on the guitar--then it opens to a more steady beat with more usual guitar chords--creates the mood of a serious kinda party we had in 70's

cool intro. It's pretty engaging. some of the background effects are a bit heavy in the mix though. Song is a bit long as well.

This song seems to emerge from some very murky layers. I mean murky in a good way, like a mood. I think this song could be used in a movie like the Matrix. High tech driving action. It seems like the bass walks all over the bass drum at some points - overall it is right on but that may just be a bit of eq work that needs to be done in certain tiny sections. Parts of this song sound very organic, as if you recorded a jam band and then loaded on layers after layer of soft synths. Interesting mix to say the least.

interesting effects, nice use of stereo. bass works nicely, supporting it all. Spacey, Floyd-ish somehow. Builds up well, good arranging. For me, it cries out for a vocal. Stands ok on its own but a vocal would really make it take off. Just my opinions anyway!

i like how it kicks in, the spacey underwater sounds sound really cool, the pick squeals i'd do without maybe, this sounds promising though, giving me some ideas, reminds me of a mix between comets on fire, tool , and this heat, this is one of the better songs i've heard on here, the production is a bit sloppy and the song seems to stretch out for a while, puts me in a good mood

anthemic start at least. The martians have landed! funny spacial effects, but pretty wicked.. could be a soundtrack to a film, would make a good one.. Such as?
Arnold Schwarzenegger did that film where he went to mars.. I forget the name of that film but this would have made a good soundtrack to a film like that.. Drums are nice and heavy and sound live? Do you pull this off live? Let me know,
Good one... better than most of the other s**t in the experimental rock genre..

I really like this raucous piece that's high on energy and give us a lot to listen to. The drums are well recorded or programmed and give us something to hang on to amidst all the insanity. I'm a bit older and a bit fat, but I got up and started moving to it (you'd be well-advised not to visualize this). The minimal guitar riff does this too and is nicely memorable. It might have sounded less harsh if the treble was rolled off a little on the overall mix; you're probably going for 'harsh' but this would make the piece easier for less adventurous listeners to stick with. It might also help if there was a bit more volume variation on some elements through the piece to get more of a sense of development. A good freak out, though, and I liked it. Thanks.

Intro hooks me up straight away... Hehe I was expecting a grindcore song or something, then comes the electronica stuff. I like that too, it's definetely good. Kinda psychedelic mood. Arrangement is great as the song builds up too oblivion. Keep it up!

It starts off like the theme music for some nightmare on elm street type movie but then the big drums come in and the big metal guitars. There is too much on the go in this track, the loopy spacey sound effects get agravating and spoil the foreboding atmosphere this song could have. If the periphery nonsense was cut down to a minimum and more room was made for the bare essentials of the groove this song would be a dozen times more effective. As it stands it is a fairly interesting moody grind, but with just too many distractions.

The mood is perfect intro is done well. Arrangement is great. I like all the sounds and drums...drums are perfect for this. The vocals (if that's what I hear) need to be cleaned up...common problem for bands, including my own in the beginning

Nice tonal palate. Delays are fun. Sounds improvisational. Kinda like a spy soundtrack. Guitar could have been more the focus. Nice jam with an unabrasive vibe.
